WE SHARE MORE THAN JUST A RIVER

It all begins with this river. But we share so much more than that. Millennia-old terroirs where the first vines were planted. Our foundations. This heritage drives us forward and guides all our actions. It is our life.

Every morning, we are writing a new chapter in our estates’ history. Two stories reinventing one heritage. Respect for this heritage drives a unique pursuit – the pursuit of excellence.

Looking at the Gironde estuary

TWO BORDEAUX GRAND CRUS, A UNIQUE DUO

Rauzan-Ségla and Canon face each other from opposite sides of the Gironde estuary. Waving to each other. Two Bordeaux Grand Crus Classés. True to their banks, their terroirs and their appellations. Presenting two sides of Bordeaux, two unique expressions, with every vintage. A unique pair. An ensemble.

A SHARED WAY OF THINKING

Chanel acquired Château Rauzan-Ségla in 1994, then Château Canon in 1996. Today, the two wine estates are moving forward hand in hand, with a shared pursuit of the exceptional. Attention is paid to the terroir, sensitive work, subtle support for the plant, and precise choices. A fine balance is the constant goal.

TWO TEAMS IN CONSTANT DIALOGUE

Like a reflection in the mirrored surface of the water, our two wine estates form a dialogue. Echoing each other. A whisper in space and time to scrutinise and elevate each other. Expertise, ambitions, sensibilities. Rather than just representing a dividing line, this estuary is what brings us together. Mutual aid, competition and the exchange of skills serve as bridges between our two estates. Each estate learns from the other, adapts and is enriched.

THE BOOK ‘FROM ONE BANK TO THE OTHER’

The book ‘From One Bank to the Other’ (‘D’une rive à l’autre’) is a dialogue between our two wine estates. In space and time. An art book where five photographers and three writers create a subtle sensory mirror. The emotions travelling the estuary, from Château Rauzan-Ségla on the left bank to Château Canon on the right, are transcribed onto paper. Immerse yourself in our appellations, Margaux and Saint-Emilion, in Bordeaux history, and in a sensitive natural world.

An exceptional book reflecting our wines, From One Bank to the Other showcases alliances – between the land, plants, humans and feelings. This work, incorporating emotions into both its content and its architecture, brings three books together into one. Rauzan-Ségla, the estuary, Canon. A project designed in conjunction with Les Éditions de La Martinière.
